Wow, I’m still trying to clean up after the amazing Girls Night Out!  Seriously that is the biggest crowd I’ve ever had in here!  If we counted correctly, we had right at 100 people walk through the doors!  I’m so lucky to have so many amazing friends and clients!  I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who came and enjoyed a little shopping, food, drinks and fun!  Congratulations to our Canon Rebel winnner Lenell Hahn and our Kids Club winner Michelle Putty!  Again, I’ll be posting all the photos from the event soon but here are a few from our fun photobooth to give you a taste of what the night was like!   Until next year…

Wow, I cannot believe it’s that time again!!  But the air is getting cooler and there are pumpkins in the stores!!  We just went to the Pioneer Orchard this week and got a TON of pumpkins for the upcoming annual Halloween Charity event!  I think this is our 6th year!!  Seriously, time just flies by!  This year we are going to have the cutest outdoor fall set for all our little ghosts and goblins to be photographed in front of.  For those of you who are new to Photography by Carrie, Halloween Charity Day is a day where you can bring 2 or more canned items per child and you will get a FREE 4×6 image of your child in his/her Halloween costume!  All the canned food will be donated this year to local food pantrys.  There’s no need to book a session, just bring your little trick-or-treater and your non-perishable food items to the studio on Saturday October 22nd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.   Please call the studio if you have questions at 573-803-0565.  All children will be photographed in costume.  Additional A La Carte orders will be 50% off.

There has been overwhelming response to my photo 101 classes.  So since you have been asking for another date and I’ve finally set it on the calendar!!  Here you go!  If you’d like to learn how to use your DSLR without resorting to the “green box” please sign up for my PHOTO 101 class on July 13th, 2011 (5:00-7:00) here in the studio.  You’ll learn the ins and outs of a Canon DSLR camera as well as all kinds of hints and tricks that I use to create appealing photographs to treasure for a lifetime.  This class is geared toward parents and grandparents who would like to take better photographs of their vacation moments, families, kids, pets, etc.  Please note that reading your manual is a great idea so before you come to class please have working knowledge of what the “buttons” on your camera actually do!    And please come with at least three questions for me to answer.  That will make class more informative for everyone!  There will be lots of one on one time too so come prepared to get the most out of your one on one!  Class is $99.00 per student.  Limited to 10 participants.  Please call 573-803-0565 to reserve your seat!

So some of you know that my little guy, Alec was in the hospital last week Wednesday through Friday.  Poor guy has asthma and it got the best of him last Tuesday night.  So a big thank you to everyone who came to visit and sent special get well wishes to make his hospital stay more fun!   He is doing much better and will hopefully be well enough to play in the big soccer tournament this weekend!  Also a special thank you to all my clients who had to be moved to alternate days.  I really appreciate your understanding.  After spending a few nights in the hospital I’m completely thankful for my nice big bed and my own house!  Here’s a few images to document little AJ’s stay at St. Francis.

The nurses and staff were all too good to AJ.  He kindof enjoyed getting waited on hand and foot and he loved the chicken strips and fries.  I think he actually gained weight while we were there! 

Thanks again for all the well wishes and prayers.  Alec is on the road to recovery!
